Your palette, every bid — Artboard and Palette Insights

The setup at the start of a bid — counters, line types, colors, icons, key bindings — is the same setup as last bid. The Artboard makes it a saved asset instead of a chore, and Palette Insights tells you what that asset should contain.

The Artboard: your palette in the cloud

In User Settings:

• Save Artboard stores your current palette to your account: counters, line types, the Quick Count / Quick Line modifier preferences, your Quick Keys number-row layout, and your uploaded custom icons.
• Load from Cloud replaces your current palette with the saved one — the "start a new bid with my standards" button, and it's safe mid-bid: marks you've already placed re-link by name to the loaded counters and line types, so their tallies keep counting; marks whose name isn't in the saved Artboard keep counting under a visible "Unknown" row instead of silently reading zero; and undo brings your previous counters, lines, and counts back.
• Signing in on any device restores your artboard automatically, so a new machine starts familiar. Worth knowing where the boundary sits: on this computer, your counters and line types already follow you onto the next plan, signed in or not — signing in and saving your Artboard is what carries them to any device.
• Export downloads the artboard as a JSON backup file; Clear resets to defaults when you want a truly blank slate.

Because the artboard stores your counters and line types with their identities, your Quick Key bindings keep working bid after bid — press 1 and it's the same floor drain it was last month.

Palette Insights: what do you actually use?

Your real standards live implicitly in your old projects. Palette Insights (in User Settings) reads across all your projects and shows which counters and line types you actually used, and in how many projects:

• A minimum-projects filter hides the one-offs so the list shows your true standards.
• Add puts any item straight onto your current palette (and into the open project); Add all frequently used builds the whole standard set in one click.
• Items are matched by name across projects, so "Floor Drain" counts as one standard no matter which project it came from.

A rhythm that works

1. Do a few bids; let your palette evolve.
2. Open Palette Insights, add the frequently-used set, prune what's stale.
3. Save Artboard.
4. Every new bid: sign in, and your standards — icons, names, colors, key bindings — are already there.
